Abstract
The removal of 90Sr is a key aspect during the treatment of radioactive waste water. Extraction of strontium from brine is also an important and valuable issue. Adsorption has become an economical and appropriate method for separating strontium by virtue of its unique advantages. In this paper, the research progress in strontium adsorption using inorganic ion exchangers, organic ion exchange resins, crown ether-containing adsorbents, and molecularly imprinted adsorbents, etc. has been reviewed. The adsorption mechanisms and the prospects in strontium adsorption separation have been discussed.
