Empirical analysis for the influence of environmental regulation on coal industrial performance in Shanxi province

In order to support the development of national economy, the coal industry in Shanxi has gone through a long-term, high-intensity, extensive development, which causes serious issues of resource and environmental disruption. In recent years, Shanxi began to increase the strength of environmental regulation on coal industry. Based on the SCP pattern, this paper did an empirical analysis for the comprehensive influence of environmental regulation on coal industrial performance by through the impacts on costs, enterprises enter and technological innovation. After that, this paper got a conclusion that the short-term direct influence of environmental regulation on coal industrial performance is negative. On this basis, this paper came up with two policy proposals about speeding up the pace of innovation system on environmental regulation and adjusting the coal industry in Shanxi province.
