The framework and application of mechanism of tectonism controlling hazards

Coal mining areas are the one of conflictive focuses between resource extraction and environment protection since coal resource is mined and utilized resulting in the damage of ground resource. To construct “green mining area” is the earnest expectation of China. Ground environment hazards induced by coal-mining were researched, and the view and theory frame of “tectonism controlling hazards” were proposed. From the geology perspective, geological influence factors of mining subsidence such as structural medium, structural shape, fractures and tectonic stress which constituted tectonic setting were analyzed and reached. Supported by National Natural Science Foundation, the control effect and mechanism of tectonic setting on coal mining subsidence were researched more comprehensively. The theory of “tectonism controlling hazards” is a new research direction which is opened up in the field of geological engineering, mining engineering and environmental protection. And the theory can offer technological support for constructing “green mining areas”.
