    Design and optimization of ore-pass system in metal mines

    • The ore-pass system is considered as an effective method to realize low cost transporting vertically of ore or waste rock in metal mines.In the face of orepass deformation and failure problems with increasing frequency of mines at home and abroad,based on the analysis of influencing factors of deformation and failure in ore-pass system,optimization of ore-pass system is carried out by taking engineering design of mining in transition from open-pit to underground in Mengjia Iron Mine for example.The traditional design mode of long ore-pass nearby the main shaft is changed,a new design mode of ore-pass system which is ore bins aside main shaft + inclined ore pass system in mining section is putting forward in this paper.The results show that,compared to the original scheme,the optimization design could reduce the amount of 15307.26m3 of the excavation and of 1870.10m3 of supporting concrete,decrease the construction investment of 4,578,000 RMB,shorten the construction period of 3.5 months,and effectively overcome various unfavorable factors impacting on the stability of long orepass used in mining operation.
