A Study of process mineralogy of cassiterite in old tailings of Yunnan Tin

On the basis of composition analyses of numerous old tailings in the possession of Yunnan Tin,a comprehensive analysis was performed in this paper from perspectives of cassiterite composition in tailings,occurrence state,crystal habit,grain size and spatial distribution.It is shown that cassiterite in old tailings incorporates a certain number of process features,i.e.low grade,fine grain,complex paragenetic relationship and high mudding degree,etc.
