Research on alkali-acid process of graphite purification

Graphite is a kind of important strategic resource.Graphite need to be purified further in order to use this resource better.The flake graphite concentrates coming from Inner Mongolia autonomous region,China were studied,which the main gangue minerals of graphite sample are quartz,mica and hematite.An alkaline roasting-acid leaching process were accepted to purify this graphite sample.The results show that the alkali-acid process is an effective method for graphite purification and graphite carbon content increase from 84.32% to 99.51%.
