Comparison between applications of Luoyang shovel and small well on exploration and evaluation of weathering crust ion-adsorption type REE deposits in southern Jiangxi province

Southern Jiangxi Province is the discovering and concentrated area of weathering crust iron-adsorption type REE deposits.According to Specification for Rare Earth Mineral Exploration,small well is the main recommended prospecting method during exploration and evaluation.However,Luoyang shovel is common adopted in the practice.Based on influence on resource estimates of one block with the same form,grade,and thickness,the two types of sampling methods using Luoyang shovel and small well in exploration and evaluation of weathering crust iron-adsorption type REE deposit are contrastively analyzed.The result suggests that Luoyang shovel possesses advantages of easy operating,low cost,safety,speediness and environment friendly,compared with small well.
