Abstract
Africa accounts for 7.5% of the world’s proven gas reserves with currently total less developed, besides, the potential for gas exploration in North Africa, West Africa and East Africa is enormous, which giving broad prospects for investment.Moreover, China-Africa natural gas cooperation is of great significance to deepen cooperation in production capacity and expand “The Belt and Road Initiative”.This paper puts forward some suggestions on the future cooperation of China in the field of natural gas with Africa by analyzing the advantages of natural gas resources in Africa, the necessity of African natural gas development and utilization, the advantage and disadvantage factors of China-Africa gas cooperation.Specifically, through the experience of China-Africa cooperation in the field of oil, combining with the African countries’ own development will, focusing on Egypt in North Africa, Nigeria in West Africa, and Mozambique, Tanzania in East Africa to conduct different natural gas and related industries investment and cooperation, for achieving mutual benefit and win-common development goals.
