MODELING PRINCIPLES OF FRACTAL JOINTS

In this paper, the modeling principles of fractal joints are presented, the mathematical models to simulate the joints in a limited scale are set up, and the defination of the fractal by box dimension is discussed.It is demonstrated that rough joints and their spatial distribution can be simulated by a computer, using fractal methods, and the distribution of the joints can generated by a descending cascade process, which perfectly reflects the real situation, behaves a well fractal characteristic.
