Current status and sustainable development of potash resources in China

Potash resources are mainly used in the production of potash，have an important role on agricultural production and guarantee food security in China.Based on the potash resource distribution，ore genesis characteristics of China andthe analysis of China’s potash reserves，production，consumption and demand，market prices，imports and other forms of industrial structure，the authors put forward some urgent problems of potash industry in present：lack of resources reserves，being highly-dependent on foreign countries，technologically laggingin mining methods，low level of utilization，wasting of resourcesseriously，high energy consumption in production，.Combined with the guidance of “Thirteen Five” plan proposed and the supply-side structural reformations proposed，in order to respond to the dilemma the authors make some suggestions as follows：①complete technological innovation and strengthen the comprehensive utilization；②increase potash supply by expanding potash reserves and continue “going out” policy to strengthen overseas prospecting；③upgrade the industrial structures strengthen the regulatory environment，building green industry and other proposals to promote sustainable development of potash industry green.
