PHOTOELASTIC MODEL METHOD AND ITS APPLICATION TO MINING ENGINEERING

Abstract
Photoelastic model method is widely used in analysis of stress configuration in engineering project.However,there are strict requirements on material to be used to manufacture the model and the manufucturing procedures of model is quite complicated.Besides,it is difficult to conduct analysis of stress configuration of a substance made from complicated material under press by means of common photoelastic model.The Material Failure Process Analysis(MFPA)which used digital technique is introduced to provide a stress configuration graph of underground stope's cross section and rock mass during failure course.It is no doubt that the"digital"photoelastic model method is simple and reliable in application.
