Abstract
Located in the late Caledonian Qinling-Qilian-Kunlun orogenic belts and the fractured-altered zone in the magmatic arc of the eastern Kunlun Blocks, the Bairiqili gold deposit is a typical structural altered rock-host gold deposit. This paper focuses on the general aspects of this deposit, including the geological setting, gating factors of mineralization, characteristics of the ore bodies and its geochemistry, indicators of the deposit as well as the prediction of deep blind deposits. After comprehensive geological prospecting and evaluation on the Bairiqili gold deposit,it can be concluded that Jinshuikou Group has been the ore-hosting rock of the deposit, while the fractured zone served as the migration pathway with the Variscan-and Indosinian intermediate-acidic intrusion provides the thermodynamic conditions required during its mineralization. The superposition of the costal halo and the retrial halo occurs and featuring reverse zoning of these haloes after deliberating of the primary halo in the deep zone based on the Structural Superimposed Halo Model (SHM),which further indicate the multiple-phase and superimposed mineralization or possible occurrence of another concentration (enrichment) of the ore bodies.
