Abstract
The solid particles contained in liquid with high speed will certainly cause damage and erosion to oil and gas well tube.It is necessary to study the properties of columns of oil and gas pipe subjected to particle erosion. In this paper the processes of the 90 degree bend pipe of the oil column subjected to particle erosion were simulated using the turbulent model and DPM model in Fluent, and the influence of different factors on the erosion rate and erosion of the inner wall of the bend pipe were studied. The results show that the erosive wear of the solid particles to the elbow pipe is mainly occurred on the inner wall of the outer arc of elbow of the bending section. In the case of fluid velocity and particle mass flow rate are kept constant, the erosion rate of curved inner wall subjected to particle erosion increases with the decreases of the fluid viscosity and the increase of the diameter of the solid particles;and the erosion amount increases linearly with the increases of erosion time.In the case of other factors are kept constant, the erosion rate of curved inner wall subjected to particle erosion increases with increasing fluid velocity slowly, and the increment decreases gradually. The simulation results provide a theoretical basis and reference for the reasonable design of tubing string in oil and gas wells.
