    CHARACTERISTICS OF ADSORPTION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENT CE(Ⅳ),DY(Ⅲ),EU(Ⅱ)ON PEAT

    • The adsorption of rare earth element Ce(Ⅳ), Dy(Ⅲ), Eu(Ⅱ)on the peat have been studied under static conditions. The results showed that the pH effects on the adsorption were the most important factor. The kinetic process of adsorption can be described by the pseudo-first order model, and the adsorption isotherm fit the Freundlich, Langmuir and DR equation. The adsorption processes were spontaneous and irreversible with heat evolution. The increase of temperature was not benefit to the adsorption. Different rare earth element has different maximum adsorption. The feasibility of utilizing peat on wastewater with rare earth ion was discussed.
