Effects of citric acid on flotation behavior of kyanite
-
Abstract
The regulation effects of citric acidon kyanite flotation were studied by flotation tests of single minerals. The results showed that in a wide range of pH value, citric acid had a depression performance on kyanite at different degree in sodium oleate system, but it had an activation effect in lauryl amine system. The adsorption energy of water with kyanite and citric acid with kyanite has been calculated by quantum chemical calculations and molecular dynamics simulation method. The conclusion was that the interaction between citric acid and kyanite was stronger than that between water and kyanite. The regulation mechanism of citric acid on kyanite was analyzed by the chemical calculation of flotation solution. The citric acid component can chelate with aluminum ions on the surface of kyanite, and it can improve the electronegativity of kyanite surface, and the effect of C6H7O7- and C6H6O72- is significantly higher than C6H6O73-. So itcan prevent the sodium oleateto adsorb, and was benefit for the adsorption of lauryl amineon kyanite surface.
