Study on the method of constructing copper deposits domain ontology

    • China has favorable metallogenic geological conditions of copper deposits, while the proven copper resources cannot fully meet the need of national construction.Geological data and literature related to copper deposits can be effectively managed and retrieved according to knowledge structure, but the method of constructing mineral resources domain ontology is still under exploration. This paper puts forward a semi-automatic method of constructing copper deposits domain ontology, which can organize the knowledge of copper deposits in the form of ontology,so as to further support the prospecting work in China.First of all, copper deposits are classified refer to relevant literature and monograph, which are described for various types in accordance with industry general principles and regulations, establish conceptual model for copper deposits domain ontology.Secondly,in order to perfect the copper deposits domain ontology, examples and expert opinion are added into all types of copper deposits. Finally, the construction of copper deposits domain ontology is realized by visualization in the Protégé environment. The domain ontology of copper deposits constructed by this method has the characteristics of clear knowledge level, clear definition of relation and rich examples. It can be applied to the accurate recommendation of geological information retrieval, and lay a foundation for the integration and sharing of copper deposits resources information.
