Abstract
The current “classification of solid mineral resources/reserves”(GB/T17766—1999) standard, a representative of classification of solid minerals resources/reserves in historical period, has played a crucial and lasting role in mining administrative management, figuring out the resources, forming mineral resources policy and making plans for exploration and development for many years. However, the active standard-comparing with the international classification research-exists various problems including incomplete contents, complicated classification, poor practicability and so on.So it suits neither the market economy nor international standards, and it is not recognized by the capital market.Under this situation, it is emergency to call for a new mineral resources/reserve classification. And this paper presents a revised plan for the national classification of mineral resources by introducing CRIRSCO classification system, involve redefining exploration results, mineral resources and ore reserves and dividing mineral resources into inferred, indicated and measured categories, ore reserves into probable and proved, a total of five type, which contributes the new version of classification of solid mineral resources/reserves standard.
