Analysis of reasonable exploration engineering spacing causing the mineral resources estimation bias
-
Abstract
Exploration engineering spacing is the most fundamental factors affecting the results reliability of mineral resources estimation.Existing domestic exploration standard determines the basic exploration engineering spacing mainly based on the exploration types of mineral deposit. It was widely used as the basic principles of mineral exploration, mineral resources estimation and classification. However, the mineral resources estimates are often obviously exaggerated in accordance with the specifications recommended exploration engineering spacing. The reasons for this may be caused by the economical and exploration business rules, the deviations of the understanding of mineral exploration standards, the data limitations obtained during mineral exploration and the un-sufficiently realizing of geological law of the mineral deposits. Moreover, the domestic mineral exploration standards are constrained by the planned economic regime comparing with the JORC reporting guidelines and have a great optimization potential in future.
