Status quo and issue and countermeasures for bauxite exploitation in Shanxi province

There is abundant bauxite resources in Shanxi province and the reserves is large. At present, Shanxi aluminum industry has formed whole industry system and became one of priority replaces industry during the period of 11th Five-Year Plan. Whereas some issues, lack of reserves for exploitation, low degree of the associated minerals comprehensive utilization, troubles in prospecting and development for the bauxite resources under the coal bed, etc., restricted the healthy development of aluminum industry. In this paper, the problems are analyzed, and then several countermeasures are put forward to promote the sustainable exploitation of bauxite in Shanxi province.
