Ecosystem services value study of mine-agriculture-urban composite area based on fixed model: a case study of Pingshuo mine area

    • The open coal mining, rapid urbanization and land reclamation change the complex land use and ecosystem services value of mine-agriculture-urban composite area. This paper takes the Pingshuo mining area and the surrounding urban area as the research area, based on the remote sensing image dataof 1986,1996,2004 and 2013,Shuozhou statistic yearbook data and Shanxi Province environmental quality statement, fixes the original ecosystem services value equivalent table, and estimates the ecosystem service value of the research area. Results show that although land reclamation is benefit for ecosystem restoration, the coal mining and urbanization have greater negative influence on the original ecosystem, causing serious degradation. From 1986 to 2013,the total value of ecosystem service drops from 456.38 to 214.11 million yuan with the decline rate of 53.09%.In individual ecosystem service, the value of waste treatment drops from 51.72 to -47.06 million yuan with the rate of -191.00%;in other words, the economic losses of ecology caused by coal mining and urbanization have already exceeded the maximum service value of waste treatment the ecosystem can provide.
