GEOSTATISTICS AND ITS APPLICATION IN CHINA'S MINING INDUSTRY

Geostatistics is a science on researching those natural phenomena occuring in space with some structural and random character. It has been used successfully in many fields of mining industry. After reviewing the basic theory of geostatistics, the paper describes in detail the application of ordinary kriging, universal krig-ing, logarithmic normal kriging, weighted mid-value method and multivariate geostatistics, etc. in mineral reserves calculating, exploration method, and data processing of geological and physico-chemical exploration.
