Research on flotation purification of low grade magnesite of Liaoning province

Magnesite resource is abundant in Dashiqiao of Liaoning province,but the utilization rate of low grade ore is not high.X-ray analysis and chemical multi-elements analysis on the discarded ores were carried out.The result showed the main mineral of run of mine was magnesite,and the gangue mineral were talc and quartz.The high grade of MgO(45.08%)indicated this discarded magnesite ore still had a great value for exploitation and utilization.In the experiment,flotation condition test was conducted under then optimal conditions as follows: grinding fineness-74μm of 90%,slurry pH of 8.5,carboxmethyl starch dosage of 110g/t,laurylamine dosage of 200g/t.Good performance of concentrate grade with MgO was 46.7% and recovery was 85%,which could be finally worked out provided a basis for further study on the discarded magnesite ore.
