Abstract
The recovery loss of graphite ore from abroad with fixed carbon content of 22.25% was too high by conventional flotation process because of the high-clay and fine embedded particle size.Process mineralogy study showed that 28% graphite and 20% kaolin were contented in +0.074 mm particle size, 15% graphite and 55% kaolin were contented in -0.020 mm particle size.In order to improve the recovery rate of graphite concentrate, three concentrates with particle size of +0.3 mm、-0.3+0.15 mm and -0.15 mm were obtained by new process of pre-classified and flotation, re-grinding and re-flotation, middles returning, according to process mineralogy results. The fixed carbon content of concentrates was 90.86%、96.53% and 95.17%, respectively. The concentrate total recovery was 94.00%.The tailings total recovery, which was greatly reduced, was only 6.00%.
