Study on beneficiation process and equipment in the separation of molybdenum and talcum

A Mo deposit was a giant deposit associated magnetite and talcum.The mosaic size of molybdenite in the deposit was quite fine although the Mo grade of the deposit was very high.Talcum content was as high as 13%,and magnetite content was 15% in this deposit.The talcum concentrated in the slime because talcum has low hardness.Magnetic separation-coarse and fine classification exhibited a high level of performance in the the separation.of talc and molybdenum.In the process,coarse and fine classification and classifying equipment were main factors.The experiments showed that the Mo content of the concentrates were up to 45.61% and 10.12%,respectively,the recovery of molybdenum was up to 80.14%,at a feed ore containing 0.17% Mo and 13.2% talcum。
