Analysis of regional difference decomposition and the influence factors of the energy consumption intensity

Aimed to further explore the trends for regional differences in energy consumption and analysis the factors of the differences in intensity of energy consumption.This article calculates the regional difference of the energy consumption intensity based on the panel data of 30 provincial regions (except Tibet、Taiwan) from 2000 to 2014 using the Theil index,and do structural decomposition to the three regional areas.Then research the six factors of the energy consumption intensity using the spatial panel data model.The results show that regional difference of the energy consumption intensity is significantly,The regional differences showing the characteristics of west to east,the difference from the region is greater than the interregional,that the difference in overall energy consumption is caused by the difference from the region.R&D,tertiary industry and improve the price of the energy can significantly reduce energy consumption intensity to all areas.FDI can significantly reduce consumption intensity in western region.A lower proportion of coal consumption can significantly reduce energy consumption intensity in eastern and western regions.
