Abstract
The water level is essential to the operation of the tailing spond, especially for areas of high seismic intensity. The liquefaction, stability issues of these areas related to the safe operation of the tailing spond, and the water level is the most critical control factors. To understand the seismic stability of the dam, dynamic time-history finite element method is used in the paper. The seepage and dynamic liquefaction zone of the dam is given by simulating the dynamic characteristics of the dam in normal water level and flood conditions. The impacts of water level on the dam area of liquefaction in the two different conditions are analyzed and compared. The research is instructive on the safe operation of the tailing dam.
